I have a 2000 GT. Put an accufab plenum on and took it for a ride. Stood on it once, and about 3 seconds later the engine started making this nasty wrapping noise. I put the old plenum back on just to make sure it wasnt that. All of the hardware is accounted for, and I am positive nothing got dropped down the intake. The noise is coming from the middle of the engine, close to the firewall. It makes no noise untill it warms up a little bit, then is loudest between 2k and 2800k. The noise doesnt go away after that, but is considerably quieter. Somebody please help me! Thanks in advance.

And with the OEM plenum it doesn't make this noise? Was it/is it detonation/pinging?

well... it dont sound like something went down the intake.. if that was it you would have the noise all the time.. so it only does it at around 2k-2800k and goes away??

how loud is this noise??

With the stock one back in it still makes the noise. It doesnt go away above 2800, it just isnt as loud. Or maybe the exhaust drowns it out. Not pinging and is not an exhaust leak. I am baffled.

Are you 100% certain everything is connected back where it was originally? Just double check everything. Since the noise started when you replaced the plenum and plenum swaps are usually problem free, this is the 1st thing I would check.
