turned the corner out of my neighborhood this morning, heard a loud snap and the right side of the car slammed down. now the front passengers fender is sitting on the tire and the tire is turned in. I had to get to work so haven't had anytime to look at it. Any suggestions on what I should look at first?

Careful when you lift the front of the car. The front springs are held in by the ball joint / spindle / strut part of the suspension. A broken ball joint would mean that the only thing keeping your spring from decompressing and flying out is the ground. If you lift the front end without keeping the control arm compressed, the spring may pop out and mangle up what's left of your suspension. I'd also be concerned that the control arm is now bent when it slammed into the ground.

Be careful, and let us know how it goes.

so...I got the ball joint changed this weekend. Rented a ball joint press and it went pretty smoothly. When I first drove it, I thought everything was fine. After a day it started making a rotational scratching noise that I couldn't locate. Now, this morning pulling out of the driveway it cracked like the ball joint was about to break again. I didn't risk it and just parked it. what's going on?

ok, so I think that the ball joint is fine. Maybe it just settled in a little, but there has got to be something wrong in the suspension. I drove the car about a mile and the right rear tire came off the rim (just inexplicably went flat i guess?) I could also hear some rotational scratching like maybe a wheel bearing, but I JUST changed both front wheel bearings. If I dont figure this out pretty soon I might have to part with the car. I've been spending a couple hundred dollars every couple weeks just to keep it on the road. When I changed the ball joint, I checked the tie rod on that side and checked the ball joint and tie rod and everything on the other side and everything seemed ok. I'm running out of patience (and money)

nope. no scratches on driveshaft. drivers front wheel hub is bad again. I jacked it up and tried to spin the tire and it was pretty obvious. What causes a the wheel hub assembly to go bad in 2 months? I haven't even towed the car home yet. I'm punishing it.
