bad tranny

yeah, thats what i would do. call around to the local cottman or aamco...or even small tranny shops and see if the builder has ever built performance aod's before. make sure the builder is atleast 40 years old and has been doing it a long time. i know the guy who builds are trannys is really good at what he does and would know exactly what to do with the valve body and stuff. a junkyard tranny costs about 75 bucks at the pull-a-part here in town and a rebuild will cost you anywhere from 800-1500 depending on whats needed. obviously all the normal wear items like friction plates and steels will be replaced along with all valve body gaskets and seals, and band. good luck man. stick with edge for your converter. ive never heard anything bad about them

ok i checked it out again last night and the only thing i figured out is that it only will shift above 4000 and it has a vibration when slowing down it is full of fluid(dont know how old)

any ideas whats wrong

it was working fine before i parked it tues night and wed. morn it was a no go

im medium hard on it but if the tranny is bad im going to buy or have a 450+ hp tranny built and see if i can break it with the stock engine
On a stock engine you should be ok. I sprayed too much and the AOD’s I had just could not take it.
