Balancing Magnum 500's?????

Got my new Magnum 500's

Installed my tires, but I cannot balance them at my tire shop......seems they want you to use a special balancer that uses lug nut holes to balance?!?

Anyway, I will take it to another shop that has that machine tomorrow.

Do you guys recommend the stick on weights for chrome steel rims???

i would just use the regular steel wheel weights, you get a better balance

i couldnt balance mine because one was bent brand new. I used steel wieghts.

Use steel weights but put them on the inside so you dont see them, thats how I had mine untill I got new tires n they screwed it up.

These wheels are a pet peeve of mine. Bought a set for my 69 six years ago and they balanced out fine using simple hub-centric balancing. Guess I got lucky.

Got the same size set for my Maverick last year, and even with lug-centric balancing, I am having a lot of problems. These wheels aint cheap. You think they could make them hub-centric.

I forget what its called but not all rims are balanced the same way. I think the original Magnum was balanced by the lugholes because the centers were slightly off. I guess it would depend on if yours were the originals, original centers with new rims, an exact copy of the original or on the other hand a totally new rim.

They need to be balanced lug centric, not hub centric. The tire shop should have an adapter to do this, unless .............
