I was just wondering if anyone had a ballpark figure on how much it would cost to get a front and rear bumper painted along with the hood on a Mustang GT. Its a standard Dark Shadow Gray paint. I haven't been to a body shop in 7-10 years so this is out of my range. I just want to make sure I know an average price before a body shop tries to tell me a ridiculous price you know.

Also I was thinking on maybe using the Ford dealer since I do have a Metallic paint job. Metallics I know are sometimes hard to match, so I figure the paint mixer at the Ford dealer has probaly mixed up alot more DSG colors than the guy at the paint everything shop.

Thanks
Josh

doubt the dealer can do any better than anyone else, a color is a color bro. they will pull up the formula, mix, and do a sprayout, compare to your car, tint as neccisary.

anyway, to paint a hood, and blend fenders for colormatch, remove front rockers and any fender nameplates figure 700-1000 depending on the shops labor rate, and what other work is needed (i.e. fixing chips, remove/replacing nameplates vs remove and reuse etc).

for bumpers, to remove, small repair, repait, and reinstall, looking about 500 per bumper, or ~900 for the pair do to overlap.

this is if the bumpers are in good shape. if they have alot of paint cracking and whatnot, that figure could go up a bit, say 1200-1500.
If you do the hood, and bumpers at the same time, could be as low as 2k, or as high as 3k, i do not know why you want them painted, so it is hard to be very accurate. Also note, the labor rates where I am at for body and paint labor are $60.00 an hour, places like Orange County CA are closer to 36-38 bucks an hour, and that makes a large difference in the total cost on labor intensive jobs, you may get lucky in your neck of the woods.

Good Luck!

Paint started chipping around where the hood scoop meets the hood and got bigger. Front and Rear bumpers someones backed into on 2 seperate occasions either in my apartment complex or in a parking lot. Thats why I want them painted. There not bad, hood will only need sanding. Front bumper will only need to be sanded, the rear bumper needs 15-30 min. of work with a flexible bondo. Maybe 1/8 in depth on the spot.

Thanks bro
