Anybody here have a Tune from Bama Chips for the automatic? I have The 93oct Tune from JLT with their CAI and was wondering how they compare. I have been hearing good things about Doug's tune for the auto Trans.

I have them and they are unbelievable. I couldn't imagine any tune improving on these. Shifting is quick and very firm and the car feels like it has unlimited power.

I already have an SCT2 tuner, had a 93 tune installed, but I was wondering if I wanted to try another tune like from BamaChips how would I go about getting them? Could I download them or send in my SCT and they program it and then send it back?

Doug just emailed me today. He said that he can either email the tunes using two different formats or ship them on a cd-rom. I assume to load them we will have to buy the adapter cable for the Xcal to connect it to our PC's. Doug was Super nice through his email...he was very thorough and even included a pic of where the calibration code for the PCM was located.

Doug is a fantastic tuner for the new Mustang. I have a stick and the K&N CAI and it really changed the way the car responds all for the better. I can't seem to decide which I like better the torque or the performance tunes he has.

I was able to upload .xtr files to my SCT xcal2 using the Extremetune software.
the software was a little buggy and not so obvious to use but I got it to work.

I think the SCT XCAL2 tuner can hold 3 tunes, 4 including the stock. I am assuming if you had tunes loaded on the tuner before the new program tunes you had to delete several of them to hold the new tunes?

I have a 2006 V6 and a Bamachips tune. I have had two days to try it out and I am somewhat puzzled. My previous tune shifted much firmer (?) and seems to be equal if not a bit moreso in power. And that was on 87 gas. This one is a 93 torque tune. Also I don't feel any engine braking, even though I asked for that as well as an additional 25% firmer shift. I am wondering now if the 2006 computer is taking any of these parameters at all! I am going to email Doug on Monday about this. The SCT forum isn't any help at all either.
I think over there, if you don't have a GT you're **** out of luck as far as support.

I think you will receive the same support as anyone else regardless of what you drive. Its business, and the V6 is game as well.

I have to remember that when I loaded my tune into my stang, I noticed a big difference in the way it accelerated. I was like WOW!!!
Now I am contimplating different tunes...because I am used to the cars performance now.
Unfortunately, no matter how much faster you can get your ride, you will notice it for a little while and then get used to it. It will become the norm eventually. And then you will be looking for ways to get it even quicker.
I drove a friends GT that was completely stock. No tune, nothing. It felt slower and sluggish compared to mine. It was a coupe. He drove my vert and said he could not beleive how much quicker it felt than his. We put the top down and "scatted" down the highway.

You might have expected a quicker car with the new tune. If you had a previous tune installed, as I gather from your comment, it might perform the same or slightly faster but not enough to notice a gain as when you installed the first tune on the car.
Just an idea of mine to share with you on that. Maybe it is a bad tune and needs to be re-loaded. Who knows, but just take that into consideration.

I will try that tomorrow and see what happens before I email Doug then. As far as the 87 tune, it was one from Doug to test and feel the crisper throttle that he puts in his tunes. If the 87 was better than the 93, was it a waste of money? The 87 shifted alot firmer than the 93, which was to have an additional 25% added to firmness plus engine braking. Now it has no engine braking at all, even the stock tune has engine braking.

*Update* Ryan @ SCT has sent the corrected files, I will report when I have tested them.

*Ok, the test initially seems great. Shifts occuring when I want them and downshifts when turning corners are much better, having tried several settings.

Yes I deleted a tune in "slot 3" and replaced it with an updated tune.

Definitely give Doug a call, you won't be sorry! He has the best tunes, hands down....and his customer service can't be beat. I have his 93 torque tune on my GT and it's awesome....pulls like crazy!

Thanks guys.

I will try to give Doug a call today. I have some questions as a S/C might be in the not too distant future. I love the car ('06), but I have yet to feel any car pull as hard as my cobra...

Man...
