Finally "upgraded" my BAMA SCT4/X4 tuner that came with the car to "Tunes For Life" through American Muscle. For the $150 I got two tunes, a 91 R and a 93 R, with the serious sounding admonition to run only 91 octane with the 91 R tune and 93 octane with the 93 R tune - racing only don't you know. Now, these new tunes and my upgraded Tuner allow some user adjustmemt like timing, engine cutoff rpm, top speed limiter, etc. So, runnimg the 93 R tune with rpm limiter at 7,000 rpm - part of the tune, not my doing. Running the car, however, reveals that engine cutoff rpm is about 6500 and no where near 7,000. Also, I notice no significant performance change between, stock, 91 R and 93 R - not even a change in the exhaust sound. I contrast this to the GT 93 R tune already on the Tuner when I got the car. Clearly noticable exhaust note change, more aggressive throttle behavior and seat of the pants performance difference. Finally, have been trying to get someone from American Muscle to discuss these issues with no luck yet - 10 days and waiting. Anyone else having similar experience? Solution(s)?

Update to this query. Spoke to BAMA on phone, specifically Kyle in the tuning department. I give his name because he was patient to a fault with an angry customer, me. He also solved the problem. Initially, I was told that with the X4 tuner and tunes for life, only a subset of vehicle parameters were adjustable like tire size and top speed limiter. This is not true. For my 2013 s197, many things are adjustable within limits. I run nitrous and American Muscle does not want to talk to folks running nitrous. I point out to them that I do not want a nitrous tune, I simply want to be able to retard the tune timing by a few degrees. Kyle finally discovered that the issues I was having required a return to stock and then reloading of the selected tune. Car now revs to 7200 hard with no fall off noted and timing is retarded 3 degrees overall and an additional 3 degrees at WOT where the nitrous comes on when running the juice. If you are dealing with American Muscle over issues of this kind, call rather than email. They are a month behind on replying to email.
