So yesterday I brought my Car up to my shop to change The front brakes to the 13" Cobra Fronts and then Crossdrilled Rears, Changed the Alternator as well since it was starting to go out on me. Had no problems with that or the rears.. Then the fun started We take off the Rotors lines everything for the front. Come to find out They didnt put the Banjo Bolts when they sent my kit and then the SS lines didnt fit right as well. So we spent 2 hours calling auto stores for banjo bolts and lines.. But no not one single store in the whole area had them. One place i said banjo bolts he told me try the music store. I was like you have to be joking me right. The guy works at a auto parts store and tells me try the music store i pretty much started laughing and just hung up. In the end of it all i had to put all the old stuff back on the front just to be able to make it home. So Tuesday the company is going to get a nice lil phone call from me about not sending me a complete kit. thought you guys would get a kick out of the one guy so i posted it. So now Wenesday Ill finish the fronts, Fuel Filter and maybe some other lil things.

Let me guess .... AZ or Advanced.

I'd be blunt with them. Tell them to have the bolts TO you in the next 2 days, or give you a refund (& you keep what you got). Tell them the hassle you had to go through when you tried the install. They should get off of the @$$ & do something then. Where did you order them from?

And make sure your getting the right banjo bolts for the cobra calipers you have. Some of them are a course thread which is what you get in the kit from or can order from ford racing. The other calipers are a fine thread and the only banjo bolts i could get had to be ordered and were for a 80 something lincoln.

Yea its a finer thread. I ordered it from Muscle Motors out of Cali. Which ill never do that again. It took almost a month to recieve my brakes cuz my calipers where on backorder so they upgraded me to powercoated Red ones. But then all this stuff goes on so its the bolts and the lines it said they where for 94-98 lines but like the way they are shaped is different. Like at the end where it connects the stock is more square and has ends on it but the ones they sent where round with no edges. I dont have my dig cam with me or id take some pictures.

Once everything is all set ill get some pictures for you guys

That's a major PITA when the kit doesn't have all the parts!

I just had a similar experience. I called a local retailer (somewhat specializing in performance parts), and asked for a performance balancer. The guy said they had one he could pull from the warehouse. I said great, and asked, "is there ANYTHING else that I will need to mount this up?" He said no. So I said, OK, and asked for a new ARP bolt too. I pick it up Fri afternoon. Break it all open Saturday morning, and low and behold, it needs a spacer to mount up. FOCK.

I call the shop. The guy says "I've never heard of a balancer using a spacer" Idiot detector goes BING BING. He says he needs to do some checking. A few minutes later he comes back and says, oh ya, they do need a spacer. And he can get it for me on Tuesday. Thanks for NOTHING.

Return time, and off to Advance Auto for an OEM replacement.

Why are there so many idiots, and why can't you smack em all with a 2x4?

In orlando there is a store called "Hydraulic supply" that has every fitting and banjo bolt or adapter that you could ever imagine. You might try looking for a similar store in your area. I know that I have used them on numerous occasions. I have also found that some of the major semi repair facilities stay open 24 hours and have many of these hard to find fittings, and sometimes even sell tools. This comes in handy when you brake a tool or a fitting at like 2:00 am

I know its the company's mistake for not having them in there, but a task like that, is it not the smart thing to do to check and make sure everything is there before hand so you don't run into something like that??

Which bolts are you guys talking about. I have never heard of fluid bolts or banjo bolts.

Are you talking about the bolts that attach the caliper to the mounting bracket??

It is the bolt that attaches the brake line to the caliper. It has a hole at the inside end of the bolt, and another hole on the side of the bolt near the head. The brake line is a ring with a hole in it where the hose connects, and the bolt passes through it and bolts to the caliper. It's called a fluid bolt because brake fluid passes through it to get from the line into the caliper.

I have an extra set around here somewhere, if I knew where they were right now I could take a pic. But I don't.

Edit: Found 'em. Here is a pic (sorry, kinda blurry, but clear enough to see what it is...).

Wow, thanks for the info. I have never seen one taken out all the way. Makes me want to tear apart my brake lines and check it out.

So it's like a compression nut/ring/ferrel all in one, but for brake fluid instead of an air line. Gotcha.

I was thinking that he could just take any ordinary bolt and replace it. Obviously not.

Yea I called the company today there pulling all the paper work and calling me back on it. The guy said that they are sorry. I was like I spent 3 hours on the phone trying to find bolts you guys didnt supply me. So Ill know soon whats up with it. I hope they can over night them

when i bought my kit they told me right then and there that i would need bajo bolts as they dont come with them from ford racing, and 4 of my friends that have bought the front cobra brake's also needed cobra banjo bolt's seperate, well maybe we just got ripped off but at least i knew ahead of time.
