Found by accident on this forum that someone improved idle problems when he found that his hego ground reference wire had not been reconnected when he had engine work done. Checked mine and sure enough, it was not connected after the engine build. It bolts to the back of the head on the drivers side with the ground strap, so if you have had head/engine work done and now have idle or mixture problems, it's at least worth checking.
Now for the question. After reconnecting the hego wire, I cleared the memory and attempted to reset the base idle. After clearing the memory a second time, I started the car and ran it for two minutes with no accessories on, everything seems fine. Shut it off and then ran it for two minutes with the a/c on, again everything fine until the very last of the two minutes. The rpms jumped to 1500 and stayed there. Poked the pedal and the rpms came back down but surged a little until I played with the pedal to level it out. I haven't tried to pull the codes since rconnecting the wire. Thought I would run it for a couple of days and see if it gets its brain back. Any ideas on the rpm jump would be helpful!
