I'd think it is a quiet setup.

From what I understand, Borla (not stingers) is one of the quieter exhausts already. So with the stock mid pipe, nah, I'd say it would be pretty quiet.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys!

There is louder exhausts than Borla and Bassani O/R X-pipe I will say that much. It really depends on what is "to loud" for you. It will definetely be louder putting on that O/R X-pipe especially since you are going from 6 cats to 0 cats but the sound will be amazing. If you are worried about it being to loud you can always buy a nice high-flow catted X-pipe. Get rid of that 6 cats mid-pipe though it is slowing your car down and dulling its sound.

I see 2 clips of flowmaster 1 chamber mufflers. One on a 96 GT with BBK O/R H-pipe, factory headers with 1 chamber flows, the other 02 GT with factory H and factory headers with 1 chamber flows.

Bassani is worth the extra price. Sound is mellow when you want it to be, and raspy when you are running.

I'm running an illegal Bassani and flows. IMO its very very loud. It sets off car alarms everywhere. It wakes up my neighbors. It scares kids and animals. It drones out my sterio. It shakes my house when I start it in the garage.

I love it.

I got my Bassani O/R X from a guy who had it on with his flows and it was LOUD. But coupled with my Magnaflows it has a more refined, docile tone until your foot is all the way in it. Then it's pretty loud.

Any O/R pipe is gonna do that and most mufflers with an aftermarket mid-pipe with high-flow cats will also.

I would let them install it for $100 just to be safe, many stories of stripped bolts and such.

My local shop tried to charge me like $500 including a mac h. I told em to F off.

What you need is a breaker bar (or a cheater pipe to put over the end of your ratchet) to get leverage. Remember, leverage is your friend. Next, you need a 6 or 9 inch extension. Try to use 3/8ths drive because 1/2 is harder to get into the passenger side. I don't know exactly how a 97's exhaust is setup compared to 99+, but all I needed other than those tools was a swivel. Our nuts on the midpipe are 15mm so maybe yours are too. Just get a good angle on the nuts before you try to loosen them and use a little WD-40 if they won't break loose.

Anybody with the knowledge of how to rotate tires could do this job easily. Don't be afraid of stripping nuts, just remember, get a good angle and get some leverage with a longer handle. No need to be afraid.
