Ok so i've narrowed down my decision from a h-pipe to an x. I want to get a bassani x but what's the difference between the stainless steel or the bx pipe? Which on would be better?

i believe the bx is an aluminum piping. from what i hear they both perform equally as well except the Stainless wont rust and it will cost a little bit more. if you plan on daily driving your car and it sees rain and snow go with the stainless otherwise the aluminum will be fine for you.

Down in Georgia I'd say save your money and get the Bx pipe. Same performance, just aluminized instead of stainless, which you don't need because of the mild winters (it was 70 in December when I lived in Kathleen last year.. man I miss that)

I chose the Bassani BX catback instead of the stainless version and its been on there for nearly 3 years and has no rust or corrosion. Like stated above, if you don't drive much in the rain and don't have real harsh winters where the roads see alot of salts, get the BX x pipe.

Get the SS version, never will rust and is much stronger.
Mine has taken a couple of hits with no damage at all.
For a few extra dollars go high quality.

Both pipes are very high quality. Speaking from experience, my '97 had a Bx Catted X pipe on it through two New england winters, and had little to no surface rust when I sold it. I also used to bottom out quite often since the car was so low, and the most that happened was my heat shield got dented.

The price debate will ultimately be decided if you are planning on purchasing a catted X pipe. Referencing RPMOutlet.com, the Bx is $349.99, while the SS is $499, which is 43% extra. For the offroad, the Bx is $249 while the SS is $319, or about 28% more.

Thanks for the input guys i think i'm going to go with the bx. And on a side note I also plan on using bassani's mid length headers.
