battery hold down or box...what would you do in a coupe?

the battery is an optima red top and i am dabate a hold down or box when I relocate it to the trunk.

I am willing to add sheet metal behind the seats to separate the cabin from trunk to pass tech at the track.

which would you do? show the battery or hide it in a box?

is there a much cheaper hold down that I could use? can I fabricate my own box from stainless or aluminum and pass tech, or does it need to have some sort of certification?

since you're relocating the battery to the trunk and most of the time ( if not all the time) no one will see it i'd go with the box.

I did the same thing in my coupe. I had an optima battery all i did was use a hold down. I made it threw tech no problems. BUT then my optima took a **** so i ordered a box from summit and used a regular battery. I had the box but they would of liked it to have the bulkhead cover where the speakers go also, i just had it blocking the back of the seat. Put the sheetmetal under the carpet where the speakers go then put the speaker cover over it to hide it. You can build your own box but it must be sealed and vented to the outside of the car. The box from summit has the vent tube and rubber gramets. peace

it needs to be sealed and vented even with an optima? i thought the venting was not needed with a sealed battery.
