battery light coming on

the battery light comes on intermidently even though the alt is charging and the battery is good or at least it was when autozone checked it, of course the light wouldnt come on when they checked it. light comes on sometimes even though voltage gauge is steady at midpoint. do these light have a tendency of going out. i hate dealing with dash instruments but it's starting to drive me crazy. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you using any under-drive pullies? Did AutoZone check the alternator, or just the battery? Check all of you grounds and connections to the alternator, as well as the condition of you belt. Also, make sure the pulley is nice and tight on the alternator.

the wiring for the regulator goes through the stock voltmeter. i might yank the alt and have them load test it on a bench. they should have load tested it in the vehicle when you had them do that, but who knows.
