just ordered MM XL series SFC's. i don't plan to ever run drag radials or slicks, but does anyone think it necessary to put in battle boxes if your running street tires? i will be upgrading to MM LCAs and ford UCA's

I would install them while you have your Arms out, a Stock Mustang can tear up the Stock Torque Boxes!

My car is proof of this! Get them installed while you're doing the rest and you won't have to worry about it. Also, why don't you plan on ever running DRs or slicks?

It certainly wont hurt anything to install them.

My stocker managed to rip both boxes. Generic battle boxes work fine as long as they are dimensionally correct. I have a set of no name ones and they they went in easy.

I also went with the steeda FL SFCs because they had additional plates to reinforce the top front of the box and give a nice meaty anchor point for the rear of the SFC.

ok so i'm gonna go ahead with the lowers. are the ones from UPR good? i know theyre a little $$$. what about uppers should i do uppers kits too? or should i just weld the uppers all the way around?

as far as the tires go i just want to make it stick as best as i can with street tires for the time being and like i said "i don't necessarily plan" to run DR's or slicks but that could change in time and as power goes up
