I understand that BBK Aluminum quadrant, firewall adjuster, & Ford cable is the ideal set up. However, i installed the BBK quadrant, with the firewall adjuster, and Ford stock cable turned short!!! the best i could hook is that you need to release the pedal up to 3/4 to get the car moving which so horrible!!! The cable with stock quadrant was just fine and I could adjust even with 1/4 release of pedal!! I will appreciate your urgent help guys???

The BBK quadrant came in this kit:

You found out the same thing I did: the stock cable won't work with a firewall adjuster and single hook quadrant.. .

You have two choices:
1.) Buy a quadrant with 2 or more hooks http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-7583-A/ $38.00
Or http://www.uprproducts.com/79-93-mustang-drivetrain.html
2.) Buy a Ford Adjustable cable. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-7553-C302/ $42.00
Don't be afraid of the Ford adjustable cable, its the same quality as the stock cable. I have used them for years and not had any problems.

Thanks for this advice, buddy. Most likely i am going with option#2 since the quadrant is installed and it's a headache to replace it (I guess) unless you think that kind of BBK quadrant is garbage and that I have to go with a better one! one more thing.. later models cable i.e 2000 is longer in stock as i know.. would it work ?

Before you run out and buy more stuff...

Do you have the FW adjuster turned all the way into the firewall? Have you tried rerouting the cable a couple of different ways to see if you get more of the tail out of the cable at the TOB end?

I'm asking these questions because when I purchased and installed my MM cable, adjuster, and quadrant, I had to rearrange the cable a couple of times to get it right. The MM kit is also single hook.

Once I got it hooked at both ends, I adjusted it from the FW (of course).
