Ive made recent posts and now im about to say forget it..I can get BBK chrome headers SHIPPED for $380 bucks..I live in florida and their is NO salt water and my install says who cares about Rust because you cant even see the headers..I dont have a show car I just want peformance and sound..Can i get the chrome headers instead of stainless steel or ceramic coated? will it affect performance or sound from heating up excessively or something? let me know people, thanks!!.

There is salt in the air no matter how far away from the ocean you live in Fl.There would be no difference in any of the things you mentioned but chrome headers will rust almost before your eyes.If you care at all about longevity get ceramic coated headers.

They won't last as long, or perform as well as Jet Hot coated headers, but they're still head over heals better than the stock manifolds and any shorty header on the market. Go for it. :nice:

Yeah, that sums it up pretty good! :nice:

They can cause poor drivability (surging at idle and poor gas mileage). This is because they don't hold exhaust heat in very well which causes your O2 sensors to give faulty readings. If you’re going to get long tubes get the ceramic coated ones because not only will they last longer the coating also holds heat in better. Your car may run perfect with the chrome ones, but I've been there and done that with set of HTS coated MAC LTs on a 5.0 and after a year of stalling, surging, and 120 miles out of a tank of gas, never again. Just my 2-cents.
