I am getting BBK ceramic coated headers and a catted h-pipe installed on Wednesday.

I read in some places they tend to rust, but I have also heard from talking to people with them that they have lasted and lasted with no problems. I figure i'll give it a shot. So now that my wallet is committed to the deal, I wanted one last opinion so I thought I would get that opinion here. Am I gonna be happy with these?

Also, what type of numbers do you think I will get out of it? I have a Magnapack exhaust system right now and an intake which is more for sound than anything at this point!!!

Well, I love the headers but I'll bet you hate the H-pipe. Mine sounds like ass, not the tone of the exhaust or anything, just that you can hear the exhaust pulses in the pipe and it almost sounds like a leak but it doesn't have the "tick". I want to get a prochamber put on mine
ASAP

hmmm... interesting you say that about the h-pipe. I heard two things:

1) an x-pipe gives it more of a tinny noise... almost import-ish with a more metallic noise.

2) The h-pipe is a little quieter (not that it matters with straight through mufflers) and will be deeper in tone but rob me of 3-5 hp.

I have not heard what you said about the pulses, but as I am driving on a long distance trip after I get this done, I will have plenty of time to see what I think.

Thanks for the reply by the way. Anyone else have any comments?

The LTs will not work with a stock H-pipe. And be aware that any transmission removal type of maintenance will require one of the headers to be removed. And it is still a major PITA to get the tranny out with one removed.

pipe and headers came out to $840 total from Lonestar Performance. They are a major vendor in Dallas and have been around since the 80s from what I understand. Honestly, the shop came VERY highly rated from www.dfwstangs.com and I trust those guys over there.

Of course I live in Dallas so I didn't have to pay shipping, and they are putting them on for me as well on Wednesday. That price is not with labor of course. I'll post back in this thread and let you know how they feel on the ole' seat-of-the-pants dyno

There's a ricer shop right down the street from this place called Jotech, so I know there will be some easy prey around

well they are in and they sound awesome... it was kinda wet so I didn't get on it too much, but the power was there for sure.

Top end seemed so much better and the low end torque seemed to pick up a bit as well.

Overall i am happy thus far. I guess now we play the waiting game and see if they go bad like have stated
