BBK Longtubes, o/r H pipe, and the service engine light..

This weekend i installed my bbk longtubes and the bbk off-road H pipe. I havent had a chance to make my mil eliminators yet so my service engine light is on. At first nothing came up but then after awhile a the light came on with the little x in the box looking thing. Then I shut the car off, waited a while, turned it back on and there was nothing, drove it around again and now the check engine light has turned on...Is this normal? Am I hurting performance or gas mileage by doing this? Any advice would be great!

by the way.. longtube headers are not fun to put on!!!!

you'll be fine with the CEL, after you get the mils you won't have a prob. the puter takes time to read errors, sometimes even a 100 miles.

one more question...

Why is there hangers on the h pipe when there is no place to put them? they are currently hitting my o2 sensor plate....any ideas?

I have an O/R H-pipe with MIL eliminators and my check engine light still is on. Make sure you get or make some good MIL eliminators that wont break.

ive heard hi flow cats can even trip the check engine light, so i leave my MILs on always.

and yeah, from my mid pipe install history, ive never used any hangers on a mid pipe. just hack em off if theyre in the way i 'spose...

while i got the topic going...

Anyone ever have rubbing problems with the bbk headers? it seems when i take off in first gear and sometimes shifting into second or third gear, the passanger side rubs on the car..im getting very frusterated as i spent MUCH time on this install..anyone have any tips? I will crawl under there tomorrow i suppose..

any ideas anyone? I crawled under it today to check it out and I cant see one damn thing the headers or mid pipe could be rubbing on!! any guidence would be great!
