BBK O/R XPIPE FOR 99 2V

Well, to be frank, they suck in more way then one.
Fit sucks. had to mess with driver side frange, because they were NOT round from factory. It was bit of oval shaped. croppy quality control?
Which lead to bad leaking probrem. And because of that, it made horrible sound.
But even after I got the leak to seal, it still have horrible raspy sound. But makes great power for the money I must say
Prochamber, here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you believe the Mac system will fit better? I have heard and read many negative things about the MAC fit quality.

Oh really?...Well, I guess way they sound makes up the fitment issue?

Who makes best quality mid-sec? I know BBK-at least on mine-sucked ass :notnice:

I have already had the Flowtech and the Dr Gas on there and loved the Dr Gas but it was stolen. The flowtech was crap. I was just hoping the BBK would mate to the passenger side deck of cards shaped exhaust manifold opening.

I had no problems installing mine except that the O2 sensor was bit diff. to put back on, it took a couple of extra minutes (10). No problems as far as leaks goes. As for the sound it comes down to personal preference, they do sound a bit raspy and are very loud conected to 2-chamber flows.

had a BBK o/r x. It was garbage. Sounded awful but did give decent power gain. I think the design was wrong, caused my exhaust to reignite inside the pipe. It made a horrible banging sound like someone was hitting it w/ a hammer while I was driving.

Get a Dr gas, or a Magnaflow.

Ya it definatly isn't the best fit. My passenger side leaks a little up by the header, but that's nothing that a little 5000 degree silicone can't fix. Pretty easy to install. I like the sound with my stock mufflers unless its in the 1900-2300 rpm range. Hopefully a set of Flowmasters(getting put on tomorrow) will help. I'll keep you updated. Good piece for the money though I guess. I could fell it after I installed it.

P.S. CMB91LX-How did your x-pipe get stolen? Weird situation. I have never heard of that happening.

BBK is just not great compears to ther pipes. I guess thats what boiles down to.
I for long time thought it was leak. It turned out that it was just way BBK sounded.
hey BTW, who makes stainless steel X-pipe?

Xpipe, flows, catback, and aliuminum driveshaft were stolen at Sams Town Casino in Tunica MS. Spent the night and when I came out in the morning, car was on jackstands and all was gone. Didnt touch the factory 17 inch 99 GT wheels or drag radials or try to get inside. security was no help at all. How is that for sucky, lost 500$ gambling and then almost 450 for the Dr Gas when all fit and modification was done, 300 for the catback, 180 for the driveshaft. I will never go back!

do a search on here for NAPA and studs and you should find the napa part number for them , need a special socket to get the old ones out , same kind of stock used for shock studs . that and PB blaster . by the way the flowtech I had was great after i replaced the studs and flowtech sent me a better gasket 2 of them for free .

I had a BBK O/R X on my GT for a total of 1.5 days. I have the stock catback with some 40's welded in and with the BBK it sounded like total crap. It was horrible raspy and around 1800 RPM it would sound like the baffles inside the 40's were coming apart. :notnice: I never had any leaks with it but it couldn't have sounded any worse anyway.

I bought a ProChamber and now it sounds like it should.
