.. just wondering, I got a set of ceramic coated BBKs, shorties for my Trick flow engine kit, but the quality does not impress me ! A lot of leftovers from the weldings..WHATS THIS ? Inside the tubes, and even around the openings, I have to remove a lot of metall...
Stupid ME, I first ordered a set of HIGH PORT Headers from Trick Flow, and they doesen fit, of caurse, B U T the quality was really nice !!! The BBKs could be OK, I suppose, But I did not order a set of DO IT YOURSELF headers. Is this common BBK Quality...?

Yup, mine did too.

But they were pretty cheap to buy so i didn't mind the extra 10 mins with a dremel

My chrome BBK LT headers came out fine... No problems with excess metal or anything.

Unfortunately, you're learning the hard way that it's almost always better to order your headers without coatings of any kind (just the burn-off paint they put on them), test fit to be sure they fit, do any grinding, banging, etc. needed to clean them up, and after you're sure of fit, take them back off, send them off and have them coated. It's a pain, but the only way to be sure you'll get them the way you want them. That's the approach I took with my Ford Racing shorties, and I'm happy now with look and fit. With your basically stock engine, don't be surprised if adding the shorties actually hurts your power. We lost from 3 to 6HP on mine with the addition of 1 5/8ths shorties. Even though they look pinched, the stock headers don't really limit flow until the engine gets to somewhere around 280-290HP.

THANKS...

..well, like Mustang 5L5 said, its pretty cheap... and
some extra Do it yourself and save the money is in a way OK, but...
And Michael, next time, I promise to do it another way... ..and the rest of it seems to bee OK,the gaskets and heads mountings seems too bee good.
I installed a set of BBKs Off road H-pipe last year, so thats
way I choose BBK this time. ( Waiting like a child for my Steeda alloy uppers and alloys adj. lowers and Pro -M 75mm MAF. MSD, and muuuuch more gooodies to arrive after eastern.. ) Thanks Guys..

I'll take a little slag any day over a set of God aweful MAC headers. At least the BBK's bolt up correctly. I am installing a set of really early BBK longtubes with the individual flanges, but they seem to line up pretty good so far.

you know, i wasnt impressed with MAC's shorties , they had messy welds, and i had to spend time with a dremel on them..... Now the bbk equal lengths that i got, were VERY good quality welds, no need to get the dremel out, no ledges, all smooth, i am VERY happy with the product.
