BBK Shorty Headers

I recently had my mechanic install a set of BBK ceramic coated euqal length shorty headers on my 2004 Mustang GT. I have a pypes Catless X-Pipe, Custom catback and Flowmaster Original 40 series Mufflers.

For some reason the stock manifolds made my exhaust louder. I checked everywhere for exhaust leaks and found none, the mechanic did a great job on the install.

Any Feedback would be great

Here we go again.

Everybody seems to notice a slight difference at WOT with shorty headers. I didn't with 2 sets on my cars. The sound was the same and there was no power difference.

It is deffinately a deeper tone, but it is a bit quieter than it was with the stock manifolds!!! Like Mr. Z06 said, I shoulda just stuck with the original manifolds!!!

If you are getting rid of them, Fast97, a few threads down, is getting a set. I'm sure you could sale them to him.

Well Mr Z06, having then taken out when I just had them put in would be a waste of time and money!!! I just can't fathom how they are a little quieter now than with stock crappy manifolds. I just don't get it. Now it's just loud whereas before it was pull me over loud!!! BBK Shorties, pypes o/r custom catbak and flowmaster original 40s. mabey when I get next years tax return I'll take em out and get ford racing shorties.

No offense but did you do any research before you bought shorty headers? If so you would have learned rather quickly, especially around here, that shortys are a complete waste of money. Ford racing shorties are no better than BBK shorties. And yea, aftermarket headers always makes your car quieter at low rpms and louder up-top. My car sound quiter at idle and low rpm's than stock mustangs with my BBK longtubes, but up top it sounds like a nascar! My advice: either leave it how it is now since you already wasted your money or invest in a set of longtubes and actually gain some power.

I am amazed at how many people actually buy shorty headers? Do none of you actually RESEARCH header design before buying?

These performance parts companies are probably laughing out loud at you while they process your order for shorty headers.

Yeah long tubes were the first thing i though when i read the thread. But let the man enjoy his new additon. Yeah there not as good, but don't burn the guy. People always be hating no matter what it is.

No. Flowmaster have, and always will sound the best. Borla's really nice, but still no match
