I have a BBK SSI intake on mine. They are good I think if you are not wanting to go wild. Mild motors they run good on. I like mine but I dont like it. It keeps blowing the gasket betwwen the upper and lower intake. And it is not recommended to spray on those intake. My car was faster on motor than on Nitrous and I know everything was hooked up right. I took to a tuner to have it Nitrous tuned and he said the intake was too spaced out. It has a cap on the top of the intake you can take off and when you do, it is like a big ass open space. No direction for the air to keep a steady motion 1 direction

I was giving serious consideration to purchasing the BBK SSI based soley on the fact that it looked "cooler" than the other more traditional intakes. However, after starting the last thread on this particular intake, I was convinced NOT to go the BBK SSI route, and instead went ahead with the Cobra. I am definitely not disappointed in my decision to say the least.

Sorry I took this statment out of context but I'm really curious about how the upper to lower gasket is "blowing"?

the intake between keeps ripping and sucking air (vacuum leak) and the is bolted down tight and everything. One think I do like about the BBK is it has dow pins to hold the gasket in place while lowering the upper intake on

Nice looking, but I havent heard the best things about the gasket set they have for them...if I remember they didn't make any more power than the rest of them either.

Running the BBK SSI with no major complaints.

  • Used Fel-Pro gaskets ... always do.
  • No fuel rail issues at all
  • Did have oil issues on driver side plugs ... Moroso catch can saved the day!
  • Used Copper Coat between upper and lower ... did not like the gasket match to ports.

Will be selling it soon. Using larger bump stick and Vic JR heads soon, so will probably go RPM II.

This intake looks cool and works very well with mild mod packages amongst our friends here in Florida.

Remember everything out there has its place - - - shop wisely

Best intake on the market. Makes more power than anything out there. Even a PORTED cobra.
