First off Ill apologize if you have seen this question before. I searchedn and found nothing that answered my question (only had the mustange for 3 weeks now):

I bought the 94-95 specific UD pulley set (BBK, steel) for my 94 GT a couple weeks ago. When I went to put them on the WP pulley does not fit on my WP. It did not even fit over the threads at the end of the WP. I put the two side by side and can see there is about a .150" smallet diameter on the centering hole and the bolt center on the BBK pulley is also smaller than what is on there. :bang:

I just bought the car recently (124k miles) so does this sound like the wrong WP is in the car or that I got the wrong pulley?

The main problem is that when taking off the alternator puley i gouged the stock one pretty bad, so bad that it will eat up the belt so I have only the UD alternator pulley on the car right now.

HELP!!!

Thanks,
Chris

I highly doubt BBK has made a wrong WP pulley. Its hard to imagine it not fitting our water pumps. Maybe you got hipped a wrong one. take a dremel and get jiggy with it.yeah, you might want to be careful with the alternator, that keeps your car alive for more than 20 minutes. If you mess it up, youll end up paying me some cash for a replacement :D

Isn't the pulley centered off the hub and not the bolts though? I do have acees to a lathe here at work but I hesitate to modify this to fit a WP of unknown age.

I am thinking based on my description someone may be able to tell me if the WP sounds incorrect or they sent me the wrong pulley.

thanks.
Chris

The pulleys are centered off the hub. This doesn't make sense even if they sent you one for the fox it would still fit it just would not line the belt up with the rest of the pulleys. Either the wrong pulleys were ordered or the sent you the wrong ones. I would call them and explain in detail what the problem is and see what they say.

I had problems installing my Mac U/D pullies because they were the black powder coated ones and the powder coat was so thick it wouldnt fit on my alternator until I sanded it down. It actually took quite a bit of sanding too.

I think I am going to take the pulley to the parts store today and see if it fits on one of thier WPs. Not only does it not fit but it also has the wrong bolt centers to where even if it fits on the shaft it will not bolt up.

Thanks for the disclaimer but I am not that dumb. I have done quite a bit of work on cars (including the SOHC cams in my last truck). So no I did not get teh pulleys wrong.. Although that would almsot be a better fit for this thing...

Anyone have a WP pulley they could measure the diameter of the hole on (or the diameter of the WP hsaft itself) so I have something to compare my measurements to?

Thanks.

Ok, Went out to the car at lunch and took some measurements (I know, Finally right)...

The new pulley (BBK) has an ID of ~1.145", a bolt diameter of ~2.065", and an OD of ~5.895"

The old Pulley (still on the car so not very accurate) has the P/N of F1SE-8509-AA stamped on it, an ID of ~1.580" and a bolt circle of ~2.600"

The Water pump has a thread diameter of ~1.180" and a shaft diameter (where the pulley is centered on) of ~1.580" .

If anyone could verify this is the right pump / pulley combination for the car OR that the BBK pulley is right for the car I'd greatly appreciate.

Thanks Again.
