Behind bars fuel rails to stock lines and intake clearance

I have seen this done before and did a search but didnt really get the answer to my question. Currently Iam running stock lines/rails with a anderson big pump inline and a 255 holley forced intank with 42's. At 6,000 rpm the car put down 475 rwhp but started to lean out at 6k(steady 11.0 to 12.0 a/f at 6k), combo is performer/f303/world product seniors/s trim at about 12 psi at 6k on the dyno(92 degrees). I recently picked up a holley systemax to replace the performer thats on the car now and was going to upgrade the fuel rails at the same time using the stock lines and behind bars fuel rails. The BB rails seem to be the only ones that dont interfere with the distributor because of the angle at the end of each rail, but will they end up hitting the underside intake? I do not want to run a spacer because that will end up hitting the hood and dont plan on ever changing that. Clearly with the systemax it will be making more power so Iam also wondering how much will the fuel rails help out seeing as its already starting to lean out. If they wont help much Ill end up just waiting until I can afford the whole fuel system and run the car as is for another season. Thanks
 
How high is your base FP? If it's not ridiculous, I'd jack it up a couple points and see what happens. Also, where are you looking to shift at? I would think that 6K would be adequate. IMO, if you're going to beef up the fuel system in the near future, just keep your pennies tucked away and do the whole thing at once.
 
Have you dyno tuned your setup? 11:1 is extremely rich, even 12:1 is more than sufficient for your setup.

While the stock rails are in fact the limiting factor on the original fuel system, they aren't all that far off from the fuel line capability. Your best bet is to swap the rails and the lines at the same time. Make sure you have a return line to prevent pressure losses. (That may even be your current problem)

Yes the car was dyno tuned and its tuned how I want it, its a VERY safe tune. It could have easily made over 500 rwhp. Sounds like I might as well wait to do the whole fuel system.
