believe in SPIRITS? my OFF TOPIC story.

last night I noticed my g/f giggling and talking in her sleep so i started to jot down her sentances. I shook her awake and had her read what she had said. none of it made sense to her and she denied saying it. she went back to sleep and started talking right away, so i got out the video camera. while I recorded her she spoke to me in a forign accent and mentioned 4 people by name. this is what she told me:

Elizabeth=has maroon dress & white bonnet
Alexander=Elizabeths brother, "a fine young lad"
carolina= gave no details on that name

"all they want to do is jump rope but they are going to get in trouble because the 'Master' does not know they are outside."

Master= Paul (benitent?)<-she kept mumbling the last name.

then I decided to ask her more direct questions about herself because to be honest I didnt realy know who I was talking to anymore. I asked what her name was and after refusing to tell me about the 5th time, I demanded to know her name. she then got angry and said "it is a matter that does not concern you" and "go about your buisness sir, be gone!" she would answer any question I asked with an uppity giggle and british(kinda) lingo like.

"I told you silly, hehe. I dont know the one who you speak of."

(all while speaking with an english/swedish sounding accent,
her laugh was not "hers" either.)
I am from northeastern USA and this was a forign accent for sure.
so she either..........?

1)vocalized a dream (very creepily)
2)was talking about a past life
or
3)allowed a spirit to channel through her somehow?

I dont even know if i believe in #2,3.
but this did not seem like a dream.
is ther some way I can get her/it to speak again and give me more details that i can research. what if i provoke somthing? i dont want to hurt her...
oh yeh she wached the tape and cant remember any of it at all!

That's creepy, I bet there are some websites for that kind of thing. Maybe try to find the websites for those ghost shows on the discovery or travel channels (don't remember which one it's on) and see if they have links.

yeh I plan on doing more research, i just figgured I would post it to see what people thought.
I think im gonna try it again without her knowing and tape it agian.
if she starts with some demon voice then ill back off and pretend it never happend

What is sleep talking?

Sleep talking is the utterence of speech or sounds during sleep without awareness of the event.

What are the symptoms?

speech or utterances during sleep
Episodes are not associated with awareness of talking
Polysomnography (sleep recording) shows episodes of sleep talking that can occur in any stage of sleep
It can be associated with psychiatric disorders such as anxiety disorders
It can be associated with medical disorders such as febrile illness (fever)
It can be associated with other sleep disorders such as sleepwalking, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, or REM sleep behavior disorder
Why do some people talk in their sleep?

Nobody knows for sure. Children seem to be prone to it, especially if they sleepwalk too. Some people carry on whole conversations, while others just moan and make other sounds. If the frequency of sleep talking is bothering the family and disrupting sleep for others, there are some things you can keep in mind.

Make sure the sleep talker gets plenty of sleep every night, someone who is sleep deprived is more likely to sleep talk.
Reduce the stress and anxiety levels
Keep to a regular schedule of going to bed and getting up at the same time
Don't eat a heavy meal right before bedtime
If an episode occurs, make sure the sleep talker is safe and gently soothe them

My bro says some weird **** too. He just kinda moans though not a whole conversation. I have sleep walked before. I was at my friends hous and the next morning i wake up by the neighbors pool. Maybe thats from being in an altered state of mind( wink wink) and drunk but close enough.

Never used to believe, either. However, when my wife and I went on our first wekking anniversary, we stayed at a 'Bed 'n Breakfast'. It was in the middle of 'Wine Country'. Niagara-on-the -Lake, Ontario, Canada. The whole community is full of old homes. A large percentage of them have been restored and are presently being used as
Bed and Breakfast's.
This one happened to be around 105 years old. Beautifully restored.
Our first night we were going to bed. Antique sleigh bed. Enormous stand up chesto fo drawers with an antique lamp on top. No kidding, the dresser was about 5' tall.
My wife has always been creeped out about those ceramic masks (ie. painted clown faces, etc...), so she got up out of the bed and covered them up with clothes of her own. she got back into bed and turned the little knob on the lamp....OFF.
seconds later, and fairly relaxed, the light swithced on for a split second. Not just your average 60 watt bulb, either. A very bright light that made your eyelid glow a bright pink when you looked through them with your eyes closed. We both just kinda layed there, frozen.
"Did you see that?"
"Yes".
We both just sorta took it as thought the bulb blew(you know how the bulb usually goes very bright for a split second as it blows), and left it at that.
Closed our eyes again. And again, were almost asleep.....It did it again. "WTF???"
Now, we were scared. LOL.
I got up from the bed and unplugged the light, only to have it happen again. "WTF...WTF...WTF?"
I got up and took the bulb out, only to have it happen for a fourth time. F*** THIS!!!!
I stayed up the rest of the night watching an info-mercial on the 'ROTO-ZIP', when it first came out.
We asked the lady at breakfast, if the house was haunted, as some of the owners of the bed and breakfasts advertise the fact (don't ask me why...I guess some strange people like this stuff). She tells us that it went through a large family battle in the 30's and was left vacant for 20 years while the dispute was settled.
Needless to say, it was tough for me to fall asleep for the next while. LOL. This has never happened. But, I know what I saw.

Yes......I'm weird!! LOL

yeh I think maybe she was just dreaming but what gets me is that she sucks realy bad at sound effex and things. you know impersonations and all that stuff.
if i told her to do a certain accent she prob wouldnt know what that accent sounded like without hearing it first. it was just so strange how her speach changed, and the phrases she would never use,along with a pompus laugh that she has never done before.
maybe when shes sleep talking ill just PITB and see what she says. ok maybe not

lol, i talk in my sleep a lot i guess, but mumble mostly. I dont think i do it nearly as much anymore as when i was a kid, but I was under a lot of stress b/c of hockey. My kids is never playuing that fawkin sport, there is some much bs and stress over how well ur playing even when ur like 7. I hated it...

but thats some weird **** fellas....

Girls is creepy. That's all there is to it.

Hard to label something coming from a human, even a sleeping one, as being a spirit entity, per se, because there's too many other factors involved. If it was something that just showed up on the audio of your videotape, that would be an EVP issue; if it was a voice coming from a disembodied location, that would be some kinda possible paranormal source; coming from a sleeping chick, it could be anything from a hard, stressful day at work to a reaction to that rootbeer float she might've had before bed.

My girlfriend has a tendency to just break out into laughter in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. I don't mean a little snicker or chuckle, I'm talking a full-on cackle that'll wake me up from a dead sleep. On the other hand, I've been known to sleep with my eyes open and my breath so shallow in such a way that I appear dead, and/or I've carried on conversations at length at 3am and I never remember a word of it at all the next morning.

Talking with someone in their sleep yields all kinds of strangeness, because you're usually tapping into the human subconscious. Hard to say whether the names you pulled up are, indeed, regarding a past-life history or maybe something as simple as names plucked from a few TV shows or books she might've had lingering in the back of her mind. It's a little bit like dragging the bed of Lake Michigan with a net - you're bound to come up with all kinds of really weird, random stuff.

However, if you wake up one night and find her dressing up in 1800's period clothing and waving around a kitchen knife, it might be time to reconsider your relationship with her...
