Alright, I have been forced to take over maintenance of a Mustang for the first time and need to change the serpentine belt. It is a 2000 with the 3.8L. My Chevy S10 has a square opening on the tensioner where a 3/8 drive rachet fits in but all I see on the Stang is what looks like a slot in the middle of the tensioner. I do however see a bolt head where the pulley itself is but figured this is the bolt that actually holds the pulley on and it should not be used to release tension. Any help is appreciated.

You have the same type of tensioner. It will require a socket on teh rachet that is all!
Just the same type of serpentine. No special tool needed. If you have changed one belt you can do it.
