Belt size for 87 GT after A/C removal

Hey, I am pulling my a/c unit from my gt size it doesnt work and I dont really need it in seattle and was have heard that I can just buy a smaller size belt that would work without moving my power steering pump. Has anyone done this before and happen to know what size belt would fit. I dont want to play the "will it fit game" by trying on 50 different belts. Any help would be great, Thanks, Steven

Easy way...

1) Take a buddy, have him hold the tensioner at the propper tension point

2) Take a piece of string and trace the belt path.

3) Measure said string
