Bent driveline!

About 5 months ago I spun out in the rain and my rear left slid into a 3" curb, just barely clipping my wheel (which was unsalvagable).

Recently I've had a high pitched chirping noise develop from the rear left that goes faster as the wheel spin faster. It's loud - inside and outside.

I jacked up the back of the car, supported it and removed the wheel. I started up the engine and put it in drive to find the sound (only starts at about 20mph and I couldnt spin it by hand fast enough). Sure enough, the whole assembly that I can see (rotor, gear thing behind it[abs?]) wobbles and the sound comes somewhere from that area.

I'm almost positive that this is because of my little accident.

NOW THE QUESTION.

What do you suppose is actually bent? The rear driveshaft most likely? Are there any intermediate parts inbetween the diff and the wheel? I know taking out a driveshaft is involving on our cars, and with pretty basic tools and a not-real garage it can be challenging and time consuming.. How much would a shop charge for the labor roughly?

so you are saying you besnt the axle not the drive shaft...the best thing to do is to replace the rearend and not just the axle due to you may have been the housing should be able to get the rearend for about 500 to about 800.

Then, I'll sell the car as is. I'm broke and can't afford to replace the whole rearend. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to replace the axle.
