Best $1000 HP mods

4:10's. does not take long to get to 45mph so I don't know what to tell you. I would do exhaust work I think. midpipe, catback, 4:10's. if gears are not an option I would do midpipe, catback, plenum, tb. that all should be good for 20hp at least worst case. most likely more.

So I was checking this stuff out, this look about right price wise.
pullies $100
Air intake tube+ filter $150-$200
long tubes $300-$400
offroad h for long tubes $200
TB $200

What sort of gains would something like this give me w/stock catback?
or with straght pipes in place of the stock mufflers?

Thanks for the help.

T/A is a tri ax shifter, if you have a 5 speed. Just letting ya know, installation on the headers can be VERY expensive for our cars if you're not savvy enough to do it yourself. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do :)

I believe T/A is timing adjustor, which would fit into power mods. Then again, I could be wrong.

don't do the CAI, just get one of the new plenums with a TB.
Long tubes and mid pipe.
TA if money left over.
These mods for the money you are talking will probably give you the most hp gains.
Assuming you are installing you should be able to do it.

words of advice skip the tb unless you do the plenum as well. if you the plenum then it might be woth the money. skip the intake tube period unless you like wasting money at this point. intake tube is worth 2hp. not worth the money unless you are out of things to do.

Blah I wasn't thinking last night, I was tired sorry
:p Timing Adjuster is good, use it with pullies. If you can do LTs yourself definately do it and match it with a good mid pipe. I think gears will definately wake the car up the best, though..

Don't bother with an intake. But use the stock intake, but get a K&N filter. I always thought cams were severly weakened when not paired with headers/full exhaust, and full intake componants like tb and plenum. But thats what I think, and Im probably wrong.

Save a little more

If I had it to do over, I would put that $1000 in a savings account and while it draws a little interest I would be on the classifieds on mustang sites looking for a good price on a used supercharger kit. Think about it, save up another $800 or so and have more horsepower than any of these mods will give you. Add up the power of any combo of mods listed on here for under $1000 and I'm pretty sure it may be 35-40 HP at the MOST. Patiently waiting for a little more money will triple the power at the least, with lots more gains when you can afford the other parts later on. Just my .02 cents.

yeah, your probably right about the sc

However, I would probably wait till my 36kmi warranty is up before I do the big engine mods. I would hate to blow the engine at 30k and have to replace it myself.

thanks for the advice
