Hey Guys, I'm sure this has been mentioned alot but just curious what the best gears i should get with plans for a supercharger. I thought i heard that 4:10 would be good, but then i also read that you get 4:10 if you're not getting a blower.

Well, most people say that with a supercharger, 4.10 is too much gear and that you run outta rpms while racing. Most people suggest staying with some 3.73s if you do the supercharger.

I am going to go with 3.73's once I get the money. I have 4.10's right now and I hit the rev limiter in 4th right before I cross the 1/4 mile. Before the sc they were fine, but now I feel they are too much.

yeah i actually just came by some money, I hit a scratch ticket for 10k. I gt 7k from the lottery. I took care of some things. Now i'm going all out. My buddy got 3:73's and he wasn't too impressed, but he's not running a blower.

Dude, share the love! Rule at StangNet is that all Newbies have to share the wealth in the event they win the lottery . . .

I would recommend the following:

-- positive displacement blower (Saleen, Kenne-Bell): 3.27 to 3.55
-- centrifugal blower (Vortech, Paxton, ATI): 3.73 to 4.10

due to the fact the positive displacement blowers make constant boost and massive low end and mid range torque. On the other hand, centrifugal blowers, with boost proportional to engine rpm, do not start making a significant impact until about 3000-3500 rpm.

Agreed with above, I forgot to mention the positive displacement blower, but dont even mess with anything but a kenne bell one. Just go kenne bell, mmm 400 ft lbs of torque at 2500 rpm....
