Best intake kit to get???

the best overall intake system, is the system holley max......all of the reading i have done, show's this is the best all around intake........but if money is an issue, there is nothing wrong with proffesional product intakes

Grn92Lx - Quit posting that junk...300rwhp is the common goal (give or take) that you get with the 302 bottomend for people that want nice manners and their accessories. Their is no "normal" to it...your looking way to general. You become misleading and bias when you post that "info"...

A performer or performer rpm intake would be nice...

The Holley Systemax would be "to big" of an intake for you if your keeping the 302/306 bottomend.

I agree. Grn92LX can give some very misleading and bias info. His goals might be higher then most, but not all have that kind of money. 300 rwhp is a very good goal. In your signature, I see you do not have heads or a cam, so I'd stay with something like the Edelbrock Performer, or any Ford intake (Cobra, GT-40, or EGR equipt Explorer intake)

Its funny you say I give biased info yet you and nick recommended the same intake I did for the kids combo  Bullsh it = the same common goal lots of guys have. Whats hard to comprehend?

I gotcha, It isn't just the money issue because that isn't that big of a deal in the context I'm talking about. It is saying that 300rwhp is "old news" when people still put down those numbers thru custom cam grinders. He states that 350rwhp is the new goal to set for a 302...which is simply not true. They have deleted SEVERAL accessories or have unstreetable 302's to get that high revving power. 300rwhp is still the goal. And putting to put in 410's when I have posted the cons of those gears all over it seems like. We don't even know what this guy has in store for his mods (it appears heads/cam are in the future) and with 410's he very well could run out of gear at the track...so that is "bad info" already...and without any back-up. But anyways you are right...we would shoot away from that 300rwhp "BS" if we wanted to or could (stroker/blown) combinations...

I guess some of different ways of "helping"

Yes the Ford intakes are nice and are of OEM quality :nice:

Kid's combo? Is he inferior to you or something?

It is all in the context you put your "info" down in...you know what your doing...and so do we.

You make it sound like a bad thing...I guess we all need to throw away our air filters because everyone (I hope) runs one :bang: What about flowmasters...I guess I'm going to chunk them because everyone has them to :bang: What about ARP headbolts? Yep, those are going in the trash to :bang:

I concur with those that say...Performer...or the GT-40 style intakes...once you feel you need more power...simply port the lower intake...you'll have the best of both worlds...better than short runner intakes low end and plenty of high RPM pull...(6000RPM)...BIGGER ISN'T BETTER...

How are Trickflow EFI intakes? they are 400$ and thats an attractive price, since i have 1000 to spend now.

How much hp/tq would i get from just a trickflow intake??
How would a TFS intake, a TFS stage 1 cam and 1.72 rollers on stock heads run???

HighbredCloud - So true Greg:nice: (about bigger not being always better)

Foxfan88 - It would probably run alright but your stock heads would choke you off...but heads are expensive as you know which I'm sure that is why it is omitted from the mods your wanting to get shortly.

From just the intake you might see a 10rwhp gain...and p-v clearance with that cam (TFS1) and the 1.72 RR's might come in contact (literally)...I'm not for sure.

If I had a choice between getting intake/cam or intake/heads...I would get the latter. A bit more costly though but I'd bet you would be quicker and have better driveability manners.

Good Luck!

I actually agree that gears/converter/tires would be just about right for $1,000.

Or you could go the unconventional way (skip "all track" thinking) and just fix those little things that bother you on your car like mine:D You could get some new brakes, fix some interior pieces, tune-up, any body work, etc...just some thoughts:nice:

Been there, done that MANY TIMES. :rlaugh:

:D Thanks to mine I got another set of drag radials 2 years ago and a few months ago I got 2 new front tires :D

Just last month for our 2 year anniversary all I got her was a card as I told her I had parts to buy and couldn't afford jewlery for her :rlaugh: Luckily for me, she didn't complain one bit :nice:

Would you guys suggest getting fat tires with drag radials in back and get skinnys in front??

No. Just put a drag radial out back. Unless your after "the look", keep it stock appearing and put the money into performance mods.
