Best Intake system for new GT

I am sure there is a section on the Best Intake system for 05-07 GT Stangs. Please send me in the right direction. I did the search but didnt find any comparisons for the newer car.

I just ordered the C&L Racer intake, I went with this one because I plan on adding a cam set and possibly heads in the future and they require a larger intake.

The C&L Racer has a 95mm MAF. Their Street intake is the same as JLT. The Racer intake doesn't make anymore power, but it flows more air. It will make more power if you add mods that need more air. Most people go with C&L or JLT with a tuen from either Bamachips or Brenspeed.

Welchy, I really hate to disagree but the C&L street intake is not the same size as the JLT...The C&L MAF housing is exactly 83mm. in diameter where on the other hand, the JLT has a larger 88mm. MAF...As a matter of fact ? the JLT intake tube is also larger than the C&L at 4 inches in diameter..

JLT, C&L, and DeMolet/Tuneable Induction. They've all 3 been proven time & time & time again on the track to be the superior kits out there. You can see in my sig I have the JLT2, but I would be comfortable with either of the 3.

Personally speaking , the Steeda CAI has also been proven time and time again along side C&L and JLT in producing similar HP and Torque results especially since upgrading to their high flow inlet elbow that provides smoother and increased airflow over the stock inlet tube..

It's really not uncommon when things get mixed up at times especially when keeping track of all the different intakes/sizes on the market..lol

I chose the C&L Racer because I plan on adding cams later also, and I liked
the design better. It does'nt have a rubber elbow to soak up the heat like most
do. Colder the air the better.

C&L Racer Kit with a Xcal2 and Brenspeed 93 automatic tune works great in the wifes Roush. 13.31 @ 103 w/3.73's and stock 10x8's Roush wheels and street rubber on all 4 corners.

JLT MAF is 89mm, not 88 like Brenspeed states. It also has 102mm inlet tube that as C&L states in there web site "flows as much air as the racer"

Jan. 06 5.0 issue: JLT Highest HP & TQ producer of all 11 kits.

13.31 ... no offense but isnt that a little slow?? was there any traction issues???the only reason i ask this is because i just went to the track with my 20"s on with 40 lbs of air spinning throught first and part of second running a 13.46 @104 with only pypes o/r H and corsa mufflers....first time at a track.... and after i left the track i wanted some mods to add to the car..... intake and a tune are next on my list..... not to get off of topic

what happens if you buy the racer intake instead of the "street" and install it without any other mods??? will it affect/harm power or other components???

marketing. their air charge is no colder than any of the others. People don't realize that even the "regular" cai's get fresh air from between the hood & headlight. Datalogging of iat's confirms that their inlet temps drop like a rock at any sort of moving speed, just as the marketers of the WMS claim. I've personally just simply not seen anybody do anything crazy at the track with a WMS.

Sidebar: if you want to increase your 1/4 mile times, get rid of the 20 inch wheels and put 17 in or 18 in wheels on. I have read that 20 inch wheels slow a Mustang down a tenth or two a second due to "rotational inertia."
