best junkyard heads???

well im building a 85 notch lx for my brother.i got a 84 lincoln continental 5.0 engine for free. to my surprise its a roller block.i know the heads are weaker and the cam is weaker than the H.O. version.my question ,other than gt 40p heads, what are the best heads i can install to get some grunt out of this engine.im a get a H.O. cam and was wondering is there anything better than e7 heads at the junkyard??? like 351 windsor heads or older 289/302 heads??? or should i just yank out some e7s???? any information is welcomed and the car doesnt need to pass emissions.

Using anything newer than 1987 will not work on your 85 shortblock without modification. The pistons must be flycut for valve relief. 87-95 E7TE heads and 95-up Explorer GT40's have valves that will hit the pistions.

As far as old 289-302-351 heads, I don't know, I am not old enough...:D

the engine is and 84 lincoln continental 5.0. it DOES have valve reliefs and found the head casting , its E5AE. how good are these heads and will d8oe be better??? will i lose compression ratio with the 351 heads, do they have bigger chambers???

stay away from d8oe, they need alot of work. the e5's would probally be better

its the D0oe's that are the good one

edit: and yes, the D8oe's have larger chambers
