Just acquired my first muscle car, '72 Mustang convertible. She's a beaut! Anyway, having difficulty finding the best resources for the stuff I need to finish her out. Pretty much the small detail stuff - but I can't find a steering wheel on the web that is either original, or a remake of the original. I'm ok with either. Has an aftermarket steering wheel that doesn't look good at all. Would be grateful for any help.

I would hit a swap meet, lots of that type of stuff laying around. Try ebay too. Also, explore the option of getting a cougar steering wheel from the same year, not sure if they would match but it might work.

There is no reproduction of any original 70-73 steering wheel at this time. You can have originals reconditioned, but the cost is so high I would not do this to any but the deluxe rim-blow wheel. The Moto-Lita is excellent, a beautiful wheel, and every one is finished to museum quality.

Some suppliers are better with 71-73 parts than others- Glazier/Nolan has a pretty good selection of parts for your car.

Bluedad, you've found the 'best resource for a newbie'....this board. I've learned such a lot from these guys. Good luck, that's a very nice looking car you've got.
