Best Sounding Catback

Just wondering what the best sounding catback system would be to install on a pretty much stock 95 GT. This has probably been asked one hundred times before...I have been considering the Flowmaster american thunder or the SPL Loudmouth, I defenitly do want it loud.....are there any other systems that you would suggest? Also, will this system bolt directly to my stock H-pipe which I think is 2 1/4". Thanks.

I'm planning on getting the regular Magnaflow catback when I get some money. If you wanted real loud, go with the Magnapacks. BTW, don't forget about this http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=472027
The Magnaflow is all stainless, made in USA and isn't supposed to drone on the highway like the flowmasters.

On an otherwise stock setup, chambered mufflers sound quite good, so I'd vote for the Flows.

The vast, vast majority of the sound is bottled up in the four-cat stock H-pipe. If you want to add volume, go with an offroad pipe or a high-flow 2-cat setup. Personally I'd do the high-flow 2-cat setup, because I get sick of the fumes with an offorad pipe on.

i'm with you 100%. My mac mufflers are sick sounding. And you wont add any volume with a new catback, it'll be the same, just a different tone. Get yourself an off road H first, then get the catback. or both if you got the money

mac flowpath mufflers are loud, but like the other guy said it will take a new midpipe to really make it louder. get a mac prochamber and flowpaths and you will be set.

If you want the best sounding (not the loudest), you need to look at Bassani. I've been running a full Bassani setup (not the side exit mentioned in my sig) on mine for awhile and I can't count the number of compliments I've gotten, even from guys with other brands (Flows for example).

I have the Borla SVO side exit with LT headers and o\r h-pipe here. It has a great exhaust tone, is pretty loud with the o\r h-pipe and I get compliments on the look and sound all of the time. It's also a lot different from the standard flowmaster sound that most people seem to run.

Flowmasters are played out, every mustang running around town has flowmasters with an h pipe. I went the totally different route. I have a mac o/r x pipe and Dynomax ultra-flo catback but to each his own.

Man, I just put Edelbrocks SDT mufflers on mine and I LOVE THEM! I've had Flows and Dynomax on mine and these are best by far. They sound similar to Flows, but somehow have a more mature, refined note, rather than just being noise (no offense to Flow lovers). Wish I could give you a sound byte, but I'm taking apart the engine.
