I'd like to see someone build up a boss 302 or a 351 clevor with a set of CHI heads, would be neat to see a screamer 302.

I've got their 2V heads on my cleveland, should be run on the engine dyno in a week or two. I'll be sure to post the dyno results and a full spec sheet.

MPG Heads built a Boss 302 with some 3V CHI Heads for Engine Masters. Here are the numbers:

Average Peak Horsepower = 658
Average Peak Torque = 584 ft lbs
Average Torque 2500-6500 rpm = 531 ft lbs
Average Horsepower 2500-6500 rpm = 463

Runs on 92 pump gas :hail2:

I have Canfield's 1.94/1.60 heads on my 331.:nice: Excellant bottom end with those cubes combined with a Ford Z303 roller, 1.7 rockers and a repro 3x2 high rise dual plane mounting 3-250 cfm carbs. Power came on at 1500 and went to 6500+ where I let off. With the same heads on a 302 shortblock, a Vic Jr, B303 cam & 1.7 rockers, power came on at 3000 and pulled to 7500 with a Holley 650 DP.

Would you attribute the shift in powerband on the 302 to 3K RPMs to the Vic Jr. single plane intake?

$800 for the porting. $150 for new valves. $245 for the intake. I have to see if I need new springs because I might custom grind a cam to match the heads.

Cripes, that's $1200 bucks! I would just buy a set of AFR 185s for $1300 and sell the RPMs on ebay!

These heads outflow the AFR 185s and I know that they fit. If I buy AFRs and ship them to Euroland, I pay 30% in VAT and duty on them on top of the purcahse price and there is no guarantee that they fit my car with all the header clearance issues I have had. I can send these back (hand carry in my luggage) and not incur any additional VAT and duty when I bring them back. Also, if you factor out the cost of the intake, the added cost of porting the heads is about the same as what a pair of CNC Ported TF TW heads cost at Summit. The TF TW ported heads do flow better than these but I am still up 28cfm over as cast at .500 of lift and 33 cfm at .600.

Well, I understand that your situation is unique Jerry, and I wasn't inquiring on why you specifically would want to do it. I was speakingh more generally, as this business is in the states and they aren't paying the rent with situations like yours.

Most people stateside would just buy 185s or 205s or whatever for the same money and sell their old heads.

If I were back home, that is exactly what I would do. Still, this will be good for another 40-50 hp over what I have now and my heads will outflow out-of-the-box Vic. Jr.s, so I got that going for me.
