GM synchromesh is what they call for but IMO redline's version worked better for me.

Red Line or Lucas Oil products are good choices. You can goto www.astroperformance.com and ask them. They are experts on the tranny.

How could Ford possibly call for GM synchromesh??

Mercon/Dextron ATF is factory spec.

Syncromesh is pricey...Royal Purple makes basically the same stuff its called Syncromax and its cheaper than GM's stuff. Also Pennzoil was the company GM contracted to formulate and develop Syncromesh, so their stuff is the generic equivalent. Exactly the same, but cheaper. Like Wal-dryl vs Benadryl.
