Best wax for dark paint?

Well my 3 weeks after paint is just about up, and its time to wax over the weekend. I'd really love to know what you guys with darker cars are using to get that amazing shine!! Any products that you use in addition to the wax would be most appreciative. Right now I'm using some special order Harly's wax from California thats pure carnuba, and i really like it and my dad swears by it. But I've seen some of you guys using other waxes, and the shine your getting is unbelivable. Thanks!:nice:

Try Meguiars #26 paste. That's always been my favorite. NXT works well, too, but I prefer the paste. It is deeper :nice:

This is Meguiars #7 show polish topped with #26 paste:

Zaino has the best product line for polish that I have ever come across. I use their polish with a Meguiars Yellow wax for these results.

EDIT: Keep in mind this is the stock paint

Believe it or not, Ear Wax. Works wonders. :nice:

On a less serious note I use Zymol (Good cleaner wax) or Mother's Gold Class carnuba and it goes on easy and comes off easier. I'm sure there's a lot better ones out there so I'm useless to this thread. :bang:

Michael, opinions will run wild on this, but it's MHO that I would let the paint outgas more before applying any sealants for sure, and I would really try not to use anything.
If you have to put something down, a product that allows gassing (fresh-paint safe) is the only thing I personally would use.

Good luck bud.

Whenever I get the nerve to do it I use Meguiar's swirl remover to strip everything off, then their polish to shine things up, and then finish with their yellow wax. Makes a world of difference. It's definately a time investment to go over the car three times though.

Personally I use Mothers Gold Class paste wax... BUT I have heard woderful things about Zaino for dark colors...

Give that thing a couple more weeks before you wax it though... We had the hood on our jeep painted and they told us 4-6 weeks before we could wax it...

my girlfriend just got me the whole meguiars line in think.. It's a 3 stage system with some extra things and then she got me the wheel cleaner and all the other stuff for the interior, plastics, etc...

I've been using meguiars for ages, I've tried other stuff, but nothing seems to compair to meguiars.

If you think that stuff is good, you should try to Meguiars professional line in the tan bottles. Gold Class is pretty good too but I find #26 paste lasts longer.

I am no paint expert but I would go at least a month, as per previous experience.

Klasse AIO is great prep product :nice: Haven't used the Moose or Pinnacle stuff yet though...
