Ok, so I wont really blow up my stang but I am a little p'ed.
I just fried my second starter relay in 2 days and am now stuck at work...what gives? Is it the 3g alt being hooked directly to the relay?
any ideas? Please help, wife wants me to sell it becuase "its unreliable"...I want to keep it because I love it...despite times like this. :bang: :bang:

Not sure on the starter resistance...had the battery tested...came back fine. Now I am trying to figure out WTF is going on under the hood. I tested the little single wire (that goes tothe post in the middle) and it had no voltage when the car was off, yet the car is still turning over... thump, thump, thump......stupid head ache...

What is the voltage ouput from the alternator? With everything off and no lights on anywhere, does the battery terminal spark when you touch the positive cable to the post. In other words, when everything is off there shouldnt be and if there is then you may have a ground which is running back to the solenoid. Other possibility is you got another bad solenoid since parts stores carry crappy cheap parts. Try another one. Also, try another starter since it cant hurt. Other than that, I dont know what to tell you. I have a PowerMaster true one wire alternator that runs straight to the solenoid and I have no problems.

Replacing the wife is not "cost benifical"....since she is givng me $3000 toward a new engine....I am deploying for a year in a few months so I was waiting until I returned...so I could go all out on the engine without cutting corners.

I have a new neg and pos cable and starter relay...will be installing them in an hour. Hope this solves my problem...if not the starter cable is next...then the starter...then.... :uzi:
