best way to lower the rearend,cheap?

i have decided that my car sits too high in the rear and was wondering what would be the most cost efficient and best way to do it.it has four cyl springs in the front so it looks like the rear is really high.what do you think??

I would move the battery back (if u haven't already) and get some subs and an amp lol

personally i like your cars' stance, it sets it off

Either trim the coils slightly or get new springs. I like the van....sister truck to the "Mystery Machine". SCOOBY-DO!!!!!

Put the battery in the hatch, and switch to aluminum heads. That's the best method, but it's costly, and you want cheap.

Get a coilover setup for the rear (which i don't recommend if it's a DD.)

Or buy a set of lowering springs, i think h&r may sell sets of springs seperately.

Also could get some weight jacker style control arms.

I don't think cutting the stock springs is a great idea. I know from experience how loose 4 banger fronts ride, and i can only begin to image how poor the car would handle with cut rears along with them.

btw... how did you get the rear that high? haha

looks like you bought a truck lift kit or something.. no offense

His rear is not high, likely his front is low.
4 cyl springs are greatly affected by wieght, so if his front end still has all accessories, battery, and iron heads, it sits low.
Change those 3 things, and it will sit level.
Mine actually sat too high that way.

haha no i didnt buy a lift its all stock suspension.Maybe its just me but it looks like an 80s model z28 spinoff sittin that high.and yes the front is pretty low

id put the battery in the trunk. will drop the back end at least a half inch and help with your launches

If they have rubber isolaters then take them out and that is a good 1/2 inch.
Also the coils may not be seated right on the lower control arm. The very end of both coils needs to face the drivers side. That is a general rule with the rear springs, you can play around with rotating them and go a little furter then 90* relative to the driverside, and it will lower it a little bit.
I found out the hard way about spring seatment. i couldnt figure out why the rear end of my car sat an inch high then stock after my rear end swap.

Cut the springs you have now? Probably not good for allowing weight transfer though as the shorter spring will be stiffer.

Put a bigger tire in the back to fill in the wheel well?

Just some thoughts that I didn't see brought up.

oh HAHA i just thought it looked high cuz im used to lookin at my GT lol.... the lx bumper is really small and made it look 10x higher than it is

maybe slap a cobra rear bumper on there and leave it at that height?

i really do think it looks badass


btw... is the same true for the front coil springs? or which way do the very ends of those have to be facing to get the lowest stance possible?
