My combo:

Stock 302 short block
Ported J302 heads
Ported Saleen Vortech Intake
Erson 1.6rr
F-cam
30# injectors
80mm mass air
75mm tb
Hooker Super Comp LTs
3" exhaust
T-5 with 4:10 gears

Well I threw a rod and putting another motor in and was wondering your thoughts of a better cam for this combo than the F-cam. Thanks

I think the f cam will be fine ,and i dont mean to affend you but i think that yuve got a lttle much comin in that stock block i think you realy need to look at some bigger heads with that combo, dont get me wrong its a good combo but not for those heads and a stock bottum end. Do you have a 255 fuel pump and 1 inch fuel rails with all that?

any of the "newer" grinds. The comp 274/tfs stage 2 would probably work really well in that setup.

The comp 274 is a nice cam. And your stock block is fine as well as your fuel rails. Everything is basically forged except the crank.

go talk to ed curtis, he will hook you up, tell you you need new valves, springs, timing chain, lifters, and talk you into a billet core... will be a sick setup, and you'll make like 10-20 hp more than an off the shelf cam with the satisfaction that you gave someone $1000 bucks for your simple 302.

Just call comp, see what the reccomend

Why are you running 4:10's with a 5speed.And those heads are what 64/62cc?Kind of a miss matched set up if you ask me.Put some 3:73's in there and throw a blower/turbo in there,or spray.

Yeah i know what you men about money. What i mean about the gears is usually you want ratio in the 4:10/4:30's when you have a motor that makes power top end.Im running 4:30's with my 331 but im running afr 185's and a anderson n71 28-6800 rpm and a parker funnel web. That being said your motor i wouldnt rev past 58-6000 with that f cam. That cam from what ive seen likes nitrous or a type of forced induction.I guess the gear ratio isnt that far out of tune depending on your tire size.

Id rahter run a fcam with 3:73's and even 42's and a 100shot stay in the power band alot longer.

expect to trap around 110mph at 5800rpms...

but it all depends on when you stop making power... to decide what rpm you wanna trap at.

Well i was told by anderson to run a 4:30 gears as the cam makes power from 28-6800 and i know i have the heads and intake to support that.

But yeah i still think this guys combo is a little mis matched.Id say to make use of everything and you wanna stay n/a run a custom cam.But if those heads did lower the compression cuz impretty sure there 64cc id say go forced induction or spray.

are you sure your valve train is ready to handle 6800rpms?

what are you trapping at now?

The afr's came from dss 1.6 stud mount rockers guide plates and hardend push rods, which ill prolly have to get different ones as those were measure up with a different block/headgasket combo. And im ordering the N-71 cam and spring kit.trapping idk thats just the set up im running and thats what anderson motorsports says to run with that cam yeah i could prolly run a taller slick combo if it end up being to much for my car.
