Ok, I just got a quote for new stiching on my 91 gt seats. Wow. What seats (make, model, year) have you folks swapped into your cars. I need to get them from a Pick and Pull or something because I have to have new fabric put on them. The upholstery shops around here say that the Mustang seats are very difficult to redo, thus the $350min. labor cost alone.

Also, has anyone ever hear of taking a modern rear seat and using it in a '68 convertable?

there was an article in one of the mustang magazines in the early 90's where they put the front and rear seats from a fox body into a 67-68 coupe. they used the split fold-down and it looked pretty cool, i think all they had to do was flip-flop some of the brackets and it worked like a charm, unfortunately i haven't been able to find that article in quite a few years, but i'm pretty sure it was mustang illustrated and would have been around 1992-1994. hope that helps and let us know what you decide to do

Thanks, the car that I got the motor and aod from still has the rear seat. I already got the fronts. If the rear seats fit, well then I will just stick to the entire set and save up for the new upholstery. The car is a convertable (91) and the rear seats are in great shape. I can probably pick up the rear setup for about $50.

In a Musatng mag from 2 months ago, there was a guy who put 626 seats in his 67 FB and it looked real good.

I saw that artical. Very nice seats but I am looking to keep a fairly mild looking seat in it. Otherwise I could just put some leather GSR (Acura) seats in it that I have in my storage unit. Yeah, I used to Import tune :nonono:

I tell you what though, I spent just over $4000 + the purchase price of $5600 to get the car into the low 12's. That is what I have into my car now and I will be lucky to get into the low 13's when I am done.

The Mustang is sooo much cooler though. This is my fourth stang, Previous 68&67 coupes, a 66 2+2, and a 96 GT. The convertable is by far the nicest!!!!
