Ebayers beware of
MandMracing also known as kpkplating or kpkplating

He just screwed me over for a Holley750DP and I'm finding out there have been others too. He's in the Decatur Illinois area (or at least his po box is)

No.
It helped him out.

He won the auction,
Paid via pay-pal,
I shipped to his PO Box,
He claimed he never received the package,
Pay-pal/Ebay gave me 30 days to proove That he received the product,
Since he had a PO box, my only method of shipment was through the USPS
and there are no tracking, or proof of signature like fedex or ups.
Paypal refunded his money.

I did go to the post office and filled out a lost claim form but these take a long time to process, and they wont let you fill one out unless it's already been a month missing.

Basically by the time Im allowed to fill out the lost claim form, pay-pal/Ebay has just refunded his money because I cant prove he received the package.

And it's not just me, I got a random email from someone on ebay who noticed that this guy had just won my auction for this carb. He was asking me for any contact info on him because he lost over $700.00 to this guy.All of this loser's contact and feedback info was not avail.

Lesson I learned, dont ship to po boxes
and use fedex or ups with tracking info.

USPS offers delivery confirmation for 50 or 60 CENTS - no offense, but its silly to send something worth $100s to someone you don't know without delivery confirmation.

Do they do certification to PO boxes? Many vendors refuse to ship to PO boxes for similar reasons. Besides USPS sucks, they lost a package I had a friend send me, was only worth about $40 but it still stinks!

A little off topic, but did anyone see the news clip during the holidays of the post office in action? They were sorting out boxes into those canvas carts. One post office employee did a nice twenty foot jumper with a large box! I've worked in some post office distribution centers and believe me, they don't know how to read the word "FRAGILE". My mother sends me a care package every Christmas of snacks. Most time they arrive as crumbs.

For money transfers, the simple solution is to set up your account so that you can direct credit people's accounts from you online banking account (I'm sure most banks have this facility). For the bank we use, we had to fill in an application and wait a week or so to receive the secure transaction password via the mail.

Any time you need to pay someone, get their bank and account numbers, go to your online banking and do an 'external transfer'. Costs us $1 per transaction, straight into the other person's account - no middle man.

I don't think it can be used internationally, but local stuff is fine. If the person we are paying is with the same bank as us, then the transaction is free (I think). If you can't/don't want to do it online you can do it in person at a bank too.

I'm pretty sure that the USPS is the only method that will let you send certified mail/signature-required to a PO box.

Never and i repeat NEVER put the word FRAGILE on a package. If someone sorts the package and that word is on the box, they throw it twice as far just to hear the sound of glass shatter. Like giving a child a candy bar and telling them they can't open it for a few weeks, yeah right
