racing season is right around the corner and although i plan on doing both, i was wondering which would give be better results at the track, drag radials, or upper and lower control arms with street tires.

well verts are slow and pointless to race

do you have a dedicated set of track wheels? if so i would skip the drag radials and get some hoosiers, et streeets, or sportsman pros(my favorite)

drs of course. but if you are going to go to the hassle of changing out wheels for the track just buy a set of 15's or 16's(tons of oem stuff out there with 5x4.5 lug pattern) and put one of the tires on I suggested. You want the tire to flex(wrinkle) if you are going to launch the car hard. I dont have anything done to my suspension and my car has consistently pulled low 1.7s on sportsman pros and et streets with 5k+ launches

Why do you say verts are slow? If you think they are slow then get a hardtop.

DR's should give much better results than control arms. The best suspension in the world isn't going to make those stock Goodyears hook hard.

I already have new control arms, BFG DR's should be here this week. I'm not running ET streets or 15" tires because I don't plan on doing insane clutch dumps, I don't want to deal with blowing my differential or axles. 17" BFG DR's should be fine for me right now.

dont kid yourself. drs dont flex at all, hook hard and will transfer a ton of shock into the drivetrain. I have never used them and probably wont. If im going to spend 300+ dollars on tires, I want the better results

i say get the uppers and lowers....cause drag radials wear away...

uppers and lowers will save u weight, and always be there...drag radials are worn down

Really? I still plan on slipping the clutch out though, no dumps.

What kind of 60's do you think are possible with 17" DR's?
