is there a right way to install these tires? the tread looks to be directional but there are no markings showing which way they should go.

I don't know I have the same tires and when I took them off at the track and then went to put them back on I was wondering the same thing. I ended up just putting them back on the way I thought they were before.

I have the BFGoodrich gForce KDW tires. They are directional and BFG has an arrow molded into the sidewalls that reads "tire rotation". Since you have the all season version of that tire (KDWS) it's quite possible that it isn't a directional tire.

If it doesn't have the "tire rotation" arrow, I would say it's safe to put them on either side.

The kdws are directional! There should be on one of the sides that says "mount this side out" one of the sides are a different thread on one side to make it better in the rain. (i work in a tire shop )

If you have g-force KDW - Directional - with arrow and tread pattern

If you have KDWS - does not look directional, so it should not matter. The tire would deffinatly have an arrow or say this side out or something along those lines.

I had these on a foxbody I had. They do say on them "Mount this side out" In the picture that is posted they are mounted correctly.

See how the outside has a different "thicker" block than the inside? Hope this helps!

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but "directional" and "which side is out" are different things. . .

My understanding is that with directional, the rotation of the tire determines how the tires are mounted, i.e. driver's side rotate CCW, passenger's side rotates CW. This would mean that you can't swap left side and right side tires once they are mounted.

The "mount this side out" as you describe would not be rotationally directional, it would just drive how the tire is mounted on a rim.

i know which side is supposed to be out i just dont know which way it is supposed to rotate.

whoops my bad was tired when i made the post and thinking of a different g-force tire for some reason my bad. Sry for the mix up

If there is no arrow molded into the sidewall, it doesn't matter which direction it rotates.

If you're really unsure, check the tread pattern on the front wheels and match the rears to the fronts.
