Sounds like a front seal. Do yourself a favor because you have to pull the transmission anyway and slap the t-5 5 speed in it.

Just slide the torque converter off and place it to the side. The seal should be able to be prided off with a screw driver but double check this. The new seal should be taped in place with a soft rubber hammer or butt of a screw driver. Then you slide the converter on making sure not to hurt the new seal. If it was me I would check and see what a transmession shop would charge...I can't stand transmession fluid anymore, exspecailt burnt transmession fluid

I think it is easier to pull the whole thing bellhousing and all. When you put it back together make sure you put the torque converter on and turn to the right at the same time, it will click and slide further on to the shaft 3 times. Make sure you do this or you will have a hell of a time (don't ask how I know). I had the motor out and learned the hard way that the hard way trying to put it back in.
