Are those tweeters in your door panels? How hard were they to install in there and is it from a component set?

Yes those are kicker tweeters in the door panels. They were already installed when I bought the car a few years ago. From the looks of it, it shouldnt be that hard...just cut the hole with a hole saw and run the wire through the door panel to your radio or amp.

nice interior

It's nice to see that some fox guys still try and take care of their interior. You did a great job. Very impressive.

How many coats did you use for the dash column. I've seen it done on Horsepower TV and they did light coats about four times. How did you do it, b/c it looked great?

I don't remember how many coats I put on (probally 3-4). I just cleaned the hell out of it and kept putting light coats on until I was happy.

Yeah, I have been thinking the same thing about a steering wheel to top it off. Its really the only thing I dislike now. But now its time to start saving for my engine. I need some power to back the looks up.

OK..

I got pissed looking at your clean interior and just dropped 300 bucks at 50resto on new interior paint and carpet... Did you cut the suede on the headliner before installing or after you had it all glued into place??

Thanks,

Derek

Had it sold, the guy was ready for it. Took a video for him and drove it around town then something bad happened...It started running hot and so I took it home and started checking things out and it appears that my head gasket blew. Hopefully I can find out whats wrong with it soon. I just dropped the insurance to fire and theft..Probably stay like that til next spring..

I will tell you if you hook me up with one of those sweet engines in your cars...lol.

Well for the headliner I glued it on first and smoothed it out. Then I cut the excess down so there was about an inch overhang all the way around. Then I folded it over and glued the excess on the back side.

You can do the same thing for the door panels, just make sure you leave enough material to fold over onto the back side. For the door panels I used the spray adhesive and then I hot glued the excess on the back. It turned out to be alot easier than I originally thought. I didn't even bother taking off the old material, just recovered it. Good Luck.

Jay, did your vinyl paint, when dry look like the charcol color in the newer mustangs? I did my door panel and it looks nothing like yours. With the black suede it is like a white and black difference. I tried 2 cans, and they are both the same color..... When it's still wet, it looks good, but once it dries it's a charcol color.

Yeah, I actually had a problem with the vinyl paint. The first time I ordered it it was really a deep gloss black...but it didnt match the flat black of the rest of my plastic. I didnt order enough the first time so I ordered more and that paint came out really flat like charcoal. So my door panels didnt match for sh**. I called 50resto and complained because I thought they sent me the wrong paint the first time (the darker gloss black). So they gave me the whole story about how lots differ and they cant garantee the color from lot to lot. I told them it was totally different, so they finally sent me two more cans of the same stuff. This time it came out glossy but not as glossy as the first batch and not as dull as the second batch. I didnt have this problem with the plastic paint it was just the vinyl. I thought I just got screwed, but it lokks like they cant make the vinyl paint very consistent. I would call them and ask them what the hell the color is supposed to be. What year paint did you order? I ordered the 90-94 black.

I got the 94-94 vinyl too.
if i rub it with a dry paper towel the dullness goes away somewhat. i think if i put soe kind of protectant like Vinylex on it, it will get darker... it's very close to the color of the top part of the dash/doorpanel.

Damn, I'm a long ways away. It seems like all the Stangers are north, east, or south of here.
