Black Interior Conversion Finally Done!! - PICS

I've got about 40% of my interior converted now. I have one door panel finished I put it in and noticed I missed the part behind the part where you grab the door. So that spot is still red corduroy, lol Anyways I did the suede just like you did, and man, I love it, thanks.

Yeah, this thread has helped me alot. My parts from 50resto are scheduled to arrive friday so I'll start on it friday afternoon or saturday morning. Although Im only replacing the door panels and headliner, I will post to let everyone know how my grey to black conversion goes.

Thanks
Eric

looks nice. im wanting to go to all tan and debatin on hwo i wana do it if i wana go a little custom and tweed soem stuff and paint the rest or paint it all or tweed it all. yoru car looks sick though

That's so outta control man I saw the paint on ur car yesterday and exterior wise its 100% god-like, then you redid the interior which btw is AWESOME! Personally I can't stand it when people paint thier interior rainbow colors and **** so the basic/stock look its excellent, with the seude it really sets it off. You gave me a really good idea of what I might be able to do interior wise....when I get my hands on a stang :(
(Hopefully within a couple of weeks.)

Thanks guys,
I'm glad this helped, I wish there was a thread like this when I was doing it.

RydeOn,
thanks for the comments, and your right...my car is an absolute dog. I do have plans to build a 95 N/A engine up over the winter and hopefully hit 300rwhp.

Ace0616,
Your interiors looking good. The leather kit I ordered was the more expensive one. I went with the real leather because I wasnt too sure how nice the vinyl kit was. I am pretty sure you can order sample patches from 50resto if you call a sales rep.

i'm still working on my interior too man, just ordered 5 more cans of black paint for the plastic pieces. The center console was a b**ch to take off, did you have problems with it? THe two bolt on each side did not want to give..... Happy to see this trend back :)

wow, I just ordered new capets, headlinear, and paint 2 days ago. I dumba$$ only ordered 1 can of each cause I wanted to see how good the stuff was. Should have ordered more, oh well. I lost my license until 11/09 so I've got a lot of time to mess around with the interior. Was it hard to install the carpets? ( I'll probably post a trend when I get my things in) BTW, your interior looks really sharp, hope my interior turns out as good as yours. I might pm you when I get my stuff in for question on interior stuff if you don't mind.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you lose your license?

Jay...you can actually use a what is called a "Bulldog" adhesion promoter...you can find that at your local pep boys...its a clear coat that makes the paint stick so you don't scratch it off...Looks really good man...Is resto going to ever come out with the factory tweed interior?

Wil,
Good to here you’re still working on it. Post some pics when you’re done. As for the center console, the only reason I had a hard time was because I didn’t want to take out my B&M shifter (auto). It’s a ratchet shifter so I had to ratchet it back and hold it while I removed/installed the console. Could have used more hands for that one.

Highbredcloud,
I’ve never heard of the “Bulldog” stuff. It might be worth looking into during the spring. I haven’t had any real problems with it scratching off yet. That could be because I baby the hell out of and I rarely drive it. Thanks for the input though.
