black magic 185 install

im installing the 185 flex a lite fan on my stang now i have a 3 row radiator and i have the extended crank pulley for the supercharger now my question is the only way the fan fits is taking the weather stripping off the fan and mounting it with the fan motor kissing the radiator you guys think the fan will burn out or can it take the heat thanks..

I can tell you from direct experience that the geometry on the front of the fan will eventually punch a hole in your radiator and you'll be left wondering where that puddle of coolant on your garage floor is coming from. BTDT.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but your options are to try to move the whole radiator forward, move the whole engine backward, or return the fan and pick up one of the more slim OEM Ford units out of the junkyard.

Split some larger vac hose through the center on one side,then put it on the frame of the fan so nothing but the line contacts the radiator.This will gain you some clearance for the fan motor & the rubber hose will be much more forgiving on the radiator while still sealing the shroud.Hope this helps.

ya i just cut the weather stripping that it had on it in half and it was good to go had about a 1/4 in to go...
