Hi guys I'm new to Stangnet. Such a cool website, I love it! I have a Scarlet Red 88 GT with 2,600 original miles on it. I'm eager to buy some 17 rims for it! So far I like the Sc Saleen replicas. I'm not sure if I should get the chrome or the black ones?? I know for sure I want 17x8's in the front and 17x9's in the rear. Anyone know the widest tire I can fit in the rear without any modifactations?? I don't want to change the quads or roll any fenders. If you have any pictures of red cars with thses rims could you post them? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't do anything I would put the car away and buy one to mess around with every single mile you put on that car devalues it. If it truely has 2,600 miles on it I will swap you my car for it

here's an idea, get the black chrome, looks mad cool on a red car. wish i would have got the black chrome, i have a 93 lx that i bought gunmetal 17x9 cobra replica rims for, but i can't complain they look pretty good. i got a mad good deal on them under $500 shipped on ebay. i believe they sell a black deep dish with a chrome lip also, that would look good too, just some ideas. but i would go with the black chrome, you get the best of both worlds and the black and red theme looks really good in my opinion, best of luck choosing. post picks when you get them on.

Hi guys I appericate all of your comments! I'm leaning more towards the chrome sc saleen rims now. Keep the comments coming, and if you have any pictures of red cars with rims please post them. As far as putting my car away because it has 2,600 miles on it. It's probably not gonna happen. I plan on doing simple mods to it like exhaust, shifter and rims stuff I can easily change back, if I wanted too. I only put about 1500 miles on it a year, so it will always be a low mileage car. Thanks again.

Personally, I like red with black wheels..

i have my car lowered, it wasn't in that pic, but it is now and i still have no rubbing up front even with the tires in the fenderwell, so 17x9 up front will work fine.

mineralgsvt what lowering springs you have? i have the steeda ones with only the top isolators off on the front and back. it looks like your rear is a lot lower than mine, just curious not to get off subject, the red with black rims looks good, kind of what i was saying with the black with the chrome lip, what style are those?

Springs are Saleen - I also have Kenny Brown Trackit brackets in the rear (lower the control arm mounting point, and lowered my car by about 1/2")

Rims are ROH Drift R 18x8 with a 235/40 and 18x9 with a 275/35
